Thanksgiving and Halloween are just around the corner.
The costumes are out and the pumpkins are popping up everywhere. It seems like every coffee shop has a pumpkin latte to offer.
Here are some great fall events to check out in the lower mainland.
Taves Apple Farm – Who doesn’t love picking a bushel of apples? The plums are done, but the U-pick apples are open. You can go to the tasting barn for cider sips and goat snuggles. There is also a petting barn.
Laity Pumpkin Patch – This is one of my favourites. There is a North and a South patch, one for the older children and one for the younger children. Corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and animals surely cannot be missed. If you are looking for some family photos to be done, this is a great place.
Turkey Trot Races – check your local community for a turkey trot race. They are usually a very fun, casual run that the whole family can participate in. Turkeys and pies can be won, kids are usually free, and donations can be made to the local food bank.
Farmers Markets – Many will run right into October, so don’t forget to check out your local community and see what they have to offer. This is where you can stock up on all your local produce for the winter.
Fright Nights at the PNE – haunted mansions, rides and many performances for the one who wants a scare. The entire amusement park is taken over.
Ride the Ghost Train in Stanley Park – the ride is on a low scale of spook, children are free and if you want to avoid the crowds ride the train Tuesday to Thursday in the first two weeks. If you want to avoid the ark, take a matinee ride for $7, this is for all ages.
