Who doesn’t like a good saving, especially when it comes to groceries? It seems like every time you turn around the cost of groceries goes up. On one of my most recent trips to the grocery store, the cashier told me about this great saving application. Maybe you have heard of it, but in case you haven’t it is called “Flipp.”
Flipp is an app that allows you to search a grocery item and then it checks to see if any of the grocery stores has it on sale. For example, say you want to look up bananas and find them on sale at the Superstore for 69c a pound, instead of having to drive across town to the Superstore you can go to your local grocery store that does the price match, show them the deal that you found, and they will match it for you. This app saves you from driving all over town to all the different stores, as well as saves you some gas.
I think it’s great, it has helped me save, as I don’t often get to many of these other stores nor see their flyers.
A few other great tips for putting some money back in your pocket are always bring your own bags, keep all the bottles you pay deposits on and bring them to your local bottle depot. Go to a local farm and pick berries so you can freeze them for the winter when the cost will be way higher. Did you know that at Meridian Meats if you buy 5kg or more they will give you 10% off your bill?
Happy savings and happy summer!
