The Life Changing Workout is a program that is guaranteed to improve body composition, alleviate mood, boost energy, promote better sleep, improve sex, and combat health conditions and diseases. Would you like to know what this workout is? The Life Changing Workout is any physical activity that you can do consistently, not only for a week or for the month, but regularly over the long term.
Many of you chose to set goals for the new year. Goals are great, but as a personal trainer and fitness instructor, I often see the spark of motivation dwindle during the first month of the year. Often you set goals or you choose activities that you don’t truly enjoy. Perhaps the activities are a little too intense to maintain. While your initial intention is great, you want to feel better or to take charge, your goals are not realistic if you cannot make progress to achieve them.
How do you choose realistic goals? First, you must choose activities that you genuinely enjoy. Next, and most important, you must choose goals that fall within your budget. Budget includes more than finances. Your budget also includes the amount of energy and the length of time you have to achieve your goals.
Creating a sustainable routine will benefit you physically. It will also help you get into the habit of prioritizing your self-care day by day. By maintaining consistency, your routine will yield greater results. For example, you might decide to try out a challenging, new workout. At first, you love the intensity. The workout leaves you so sore you can barely move for a week. As a result, you believe that you have chosen a good workout. But after a few weeks, you inevitably give up, not because you still don’t want to get in shape, but because the workout is not adapted to your abilities. Compare this with a thrice weekly, lower impact activity that you enjoy, that leaves you feeling refreshed, energized, strong, and proud of your accomplishments. Which workout will motivate you in the long term? Which one will empower you? Which will fit into your energy budget? And which workout will you be able to maintain for the long term?
As a personal trainer, I encourage you to choose the workout that motivates you. Choose a workout activity that you enjoy. This is the workout that will change your life.
