Well I am not sure about you, but after the roller coaster ride that Christmas is, I find myself finding something to motivate me for January. Prior to having children, I was in my office helping clients set goals, maintain a healthy lifestyle and move a little more.
Once I had my son, I began to use January as a month of purging. Now for the last seven years, I make a list of every room, closet, bin that needs to be tackled. I find it rewarding and motivating, it truly helps me find a purpose for January. If you are unsure how to get started or maybe feel overwhelmed by it all, I suggest making a list, and then starting small. You may only have time to do one task a day.
That is quite okay, you have the whole month and potentially February too. Grab a recycling bin, garbage bin, a bag for the donation centre. This way you will be able to sort where things can go that you no longer need. If you have some good quality items that you no longer need, think about selling them or giving them to a friend. I get really excited by doing this. It is also a good time to put away all the Christmas decorations and sort it while in the process.
Happy cleaning.
